"Menopause is in many ways stigmatized with biases related to fertility, sexuality, and aging, when it is, in fact, a natural phase of life for half of the global population. Female Engineering's menopause clothing is designed to improve women's well-being and represents a true innovation for those facing hot flushes and night sweats. Based on extensive research and patented technology, along with a unique blend of materials, these garments are specially engineered to manage the entire phase – from moisture-wicking to providing warmth during post-chills", explains Charlotta Levin, Brand Area Manager of Female Engineering at Lindex.
Nearly all women experience some discomfort during menopause*, the period before and after the final menstruation (menopause). Hot flushes and night sweats are the most common issues associated with menopause, affecting nearly nine out of ten women (86%)*.
When Female Engineering, part of the Lindex Group, was launched almost two years ago, its aim was to improve women's well-being through the various stages of life, as menstruation, pregnancy, postpartum, breastfeeding, incontinence and menopause. Today, Female Engineering offers reusable period panties, gentle intimate care products, practical nursing cups, and absorbent maternity underwear – and now the brand is launching an innovative line of menopause clothing.
"With our femtech brand, Female Engineering, we continue to create groundbreaking products and solutions addressing the specific needs of women. We are committed to reshaping the landscape of women's well-being and look forward to being a pioneer in this exciting market. Our femtech investment is an important part of our effort to create new sustainable business and growth opportunities based on Lindex's unique expertise in underwear and our higher purpose – to empower and inspire women", says CEO Susanne Ehnbåge.
How the menopause clothing works
The combination of yarn properties and patented Anti-Flush™ Technology provides relief from hot flushes and night sweats. When the body emits heat, the fabric absorbs and stores the warmth. The fabric wicks away moisture and cools the skin, thereby reducing the effects of hot flushes and night sweats. The material also releases heat back to the skin during the subsequent chill that follows a hot flush, regulating body temperature and ensuring a fresh feeling throughout the day and night.
The collection includes tank tops, t-shirts, sleep tees, and boxer shorts. The designs are engineered using seamless technology for exceptional comfort. The garments are available in sizes XS-3XL and are released today, August 31, on lindex.com and femaleengineering-official.com as well as in selected Lindex stores.
