Lindex opens with record breaking success in Denmark

Lindex has now opened the doors to its new store located in Denmark’s biggest shopping mall Fields, Copenhagen. The store opening attracted 13.700 guests during the opening weekend.

The queue started two hours before the Lindex store opening and expanded through a large part of the shopping center.

“We are completely overwhelmed by the fantastic reception that Lindex received. It is clear that people have missed Lindex in the Danish market and we are extremely proud to be the first shopping center to open the first Lindex store in Denmark. We have never before, in any opening in Field´s history, seen a fashion brand bring in so many guests and to create a queue through most of the first floor. With the addition of Lindex Field´s offers the best fashion-mix of any Danish shopping center”, says Thomas Thomsen, Shopping Center Manager for Field´s, Steen & Strøm/Klépierre.

The store offers all Lindex business areas; women’s wear, kids’ wear, lingerie and cosmetics. The fashion company’s Scandinavian heritage is reflected in the latest store interior with light and sustainable materials.

“Something that is new for the Lindex customer is that they in this store can shop with self-checkout. The customer means everything to us and we want to offer an easy and inspiring shopping experience” says Johan Isacson, Head of Lindex Franchise.

The store is operated together with franchisees Loa Kristjansdottir and Albert Magnusson, who are soon planning to open more Lindex stores in Denmark and a Danish Lindex Shop Online with fast deliveries.

“It is now the ten-year anniversary for the small start-up we established selling kids' clothes online on Iceland. With that in mind, to open in the retail capital, to such a phenomenal crowd is quite unbelievable. We are extremely grateful for the reception and look forward to creating an inspiring fashion experience for our fantastic customers,” says Loa D. Kristjansdottir and Albert Thor Magnusson.

A set percentage of sales from the official opening day, 40.000 DKK, goes to the organisation ‘Familier med kræftramte børn’, a charity chosen by the store employees.

Lindex currently has 461 stores on 18 markets, of which nine markets are via Franchise, and online sales worldwide through third-party partnerships.
