Turnover at Lindex increased by 8.7 percent in December

Turnover at Lindex increased by 8.7 percent measured in local currencies during December 2011. This is thanks to a strongly positive sales trend on all markets. For the entire year, the increase in sales amounted to 3.4 percent.

“The positive sales trend shows us that our efforts in creating inspiring and affordable fashion were appreciated by our customers. We should remember that it has been a difficult market, which facts makes us even more positive about the trend. We take this with us into 2012, a year that will be fraught with continued uncertainty regarding market trends, and where the aim will be further to strengthen our position as an international fashion chain”, says Göran Bille, Managing Director at Lindex.

All markets showed an increase in turnover at Lindex in December. Lindex in Sweden saw an increase of 0.7 percent and outside Sweden the success continued with an increase of as much as 21.8 percent, measured in local currencies.

“The figures prove that our fashion is appreciated internationally. We want to build further on this point in our long-term expansion, in which we anticipate this strategy will allow us to expand via such things as franchising contracts. For example, during the latter part of the year, we became the first Swedish fashion chain in Iceland following a successful opening in Reykjavik – an establishment that took place by means of just such a franchise contract”, says Göran Bille.

Furthermore a new store concept was introduced at the end of 2011. This took place in connection with the opening of a new store at Karl Johan in Oslo.

“The new concept creates a welcoming shopping environment filled with tips and ideas for the fashion-conscious woman, where one can sense the ambience of our Scandinavian tradition in the interior. The store is our most important communications channel, which makes this investment important for the upcoming years”, says Göran Bille.
