Lindex expands with new opening in Poland and international e-commerce

The fashion chain Lindex is continuing its international expansion. In December Lindex is launching its online store – Lindex Shop Online -throughout the EU. It will thus be possible to buy Lindex fashion on the Internet from 27 European countries. At the start of 2011 several strategically important store openings will take place. In March Lindex will open its first store in Poland which will be an important market for the company’s continued expansion.

Lindex’s successful expansion is continuing and soon even more people will be able to buy from Lindex from abroad. Today Lindex has stores in 12 countries and e-commerce in three countries. The beginning of December marks the premier for Lindex’s online store – Lindex Shop Online -throughout the EU. From here on it will be possible to buy Lindex fashion from all the countries in the EU which currently includes 27 countries.

– This venture is very exciting, since Lindex will be more international that it has ever been. Now our fashion can be bought from all the countries in the EU. We have noticed a demand for Lindex’s affordable fashion collection in several markets. Many women are willing to shop on the web, and Lindex is addressing itself in particular to women who are interested in fashion, says Göran Bille, CEO at Lindex.

Lindex has also signed a contract for its first store in Poland. The store is opening in a completely new shopping centre in the town of Walbrzych in southern Poland. This opening is strategically important for Lindex’s continued establishment in Central Europe, where Lindex currently has 15 stores.

– Poland is an enormous market, with nearly 50 million inhabitants. The country has also coped well with the financial crisis. Our goal is to open 100 stores in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia over a five-year period. We have very positive experiences from our openings in the Czech Republic and Slovakia which gives us the courage and strength to continue our expansion, says Göran Bille, CEO for Lindex.

In recent years Lindex has been a growing and successful international company. The fashion chain has worked toward its goal to raise the fashion level in its selection and one example is the investment in design. During the autumn Lindex is collaborating with the international designer Narciso Rodriguez. He has created the exclusive design collection the Pink Collection with Narciso Rodriguez, where 10 percent of the sales price will go to the Cancer Society’s Pink Ribbon campaign.
