Lindex is the Fashion Chain of the Year

Lindex has received the most prestigious award that a fashion chain can receive in Sweden. The award “Fashion Chain of the Year” was made yesterday evening at the fashion trade gala held in Stockholm’s City Hall. Lindex was honoured for good profitability, international expansion and a smart fashion concept. And there was more – Lindex also won the award for “Interior Design Concept of the Year”.

The Habit Fashion Awards is the gala event for the entire fashion industry. The idea is to highlight, reward and stimulate the players in the fashion industry. Lindex has never previously received the Fashion Chain of the Year award.

– Winning this prize is absolutely fabulous. It is an acknowledgement of all the hard work that we at Lindex have put in over the last few years. 2009 was a fantastic year for us. Our customers appreciate what we have to offer, and we have found a successful approach that works well in the international fashion world, says Göran Bille, MD of Lindex.

In just a couple of years, Lindex has become an expanding and successful international fashion company. Lindex has worked purposefully to raise the fashion stakes. We have successfully retained existing customers and recruited new ones. During the autumn, Lindex has expanded its product range by investing even more in design. For example, the experienced designer Ewa Larsson has produced an exclusive and limited fashion collection for Lindex. This year’s collection for the Swedish Cancer Society’s Pink Ribbon campaign was designed by Emma Wiklund, who produced her own collection Pink Collection, for Lindex.

The jury’s justification for the best Fashion Chain of the Year:

Lindex has established itself as a leading fashion chain in northern Europe for children, women and cosmetics. The product range has steadily moved up the fashion scale while retaining the broad customer base. This blue-yellow-white store chain is committed to environmental work and to increasing the sale of organically produced clothes. Recent years have seen good profitability and rapid expansion, with the aim of doubling the number of stores in five years.
