Lindex launches Pink Umbrella in design collaboration with Jonas Frank
Pink Umbrella is a design collaboration between Lindex and Swedish designer Jonas Frank. The breast-shaped umbrella is inspired by his wife Sara’s breast cancer journey and has been created as a symbol of hope while also raising awareness of the importance of regularly checking your breasts.
'At Lindex, we want to drive meaningful change for women and use our voice and our business to make a difference in issues that affect women’s lives and health. Through our long-term commitment to the Pink Ribbon campaign and the launch of Pink Umbrella, we aim to contribute to life-saving research while also increasing awareness of breast health,' says Linda Olsson, Director of Brand Experience.
Lindex has been engaged in the Pink Ribbon campaign for more than two decades and, together with its customers, has raised a total of 23.8 MEUR for cancer research. This year, the fashion company is taking its commitment one step further by introducing Pink Umbrella, with all profits from sales being donated to cancer research.
'When my wife Sara was diagnosed with breast cancer, life changed for our entire family. I wanted to use what I know, ideas and design, to contribute. Pink Umbrella is a symbol of hope, but also a reminder to get to know and regularly check your breasts. My hope is that it can raise awareness while also contributing to research that saves lives,' says Jonas Frank.
Pink Umbrella will be available in Lindex stores and at lindex.com from 1 October and will become a year-round part of the Lindex’s assortment.
