The start of a new fashion year, the spring season, is once more waiting for us. The continuous and exciting development of fashion is the core when the Lindex team of designers interprets the upcoming season. The result is a number of beautiful collections for the forthcoming spring.

“It is always very inspiring to start the work with a new season. The spring 2014 is not an exception – we are really entering a new creative era. There is so much happening in fashion and especially when it comes to the silhouettes and materials. In this context I find the surfaces and the textures most important. Sometimes it is nearly impossible to decide whether the qualities are woven or knitted. In some cases the structure has been created by a printed pattern,” says Nina Starck, Head of Design at Lindex.

Bold Graphic
With this collection the design team gives a fresh start of the New Year, which is expressed with boldness in colors, patterns and shape. We see a new silhouette playing with volume. The volumes will be created with firm fabrics, such as neoprene and bonded fabrics, which are in contrast to the more sheer and see-through fabrics. The color palette show black and white, shades of grey, bright yellow and lilac.Prints are very important for this trend and the boldness comes through in vertical stripes, checks/grids, geometric and the IT animal print is snake. Key pieces are the jackets, the trousers – preferably with a wide silhouette or/and cropped and the T-shaped top.

Soft Pastels
This collection shows a soft spring pastel palette, it is like an instagram filter has been added the pastels to give a cool and laid-back look. Key words are a soft and sun bleached. Greige enhances the pastels and is the perfect match. Different kinds of wash effects and pigment dyes create interesting surfaces. Animal prints such as tiger and zebra add a cool vibe to the pastel color story. The silhouette is relaxed, comfy and layered. It is easy to wear, a bomber jacket paired with loved-in denims and washed out blacks and t-shirts as well as other tops with cool prints. Key pieces are throw-on cardigans, printed jackets, tapered trousers with slim boyfriend silhouette and printed tees.

Desert Dreaming
A fresh interpretation of the bohemian trend for this spring, an eclectic mix of cultures but made for the city life. This is a rich, spicy story with colors inspired by the sunset and the desert tunes: deep magenta, red, warm sand and tobacco. Shades of white brighten up and worn-out denim adds freshness to the collection. The statement pieces for this trend are jackets with new silhouettes, the shirt jacket and the jacket in heavy canvas with embellishment, cardigans with fringes and skirts with bohemian paisleys, crafted knitwear and blouses with embroideries as well as the always so loved denims with relaxed fit.

“The most important pieces for the spring are definitely the jacket and the trousers. The jacket can be anything from the petite blouse-jacket without buttons to the longer jacket with more volume. The trousers are also super important this spring. There are lots of different types of trousers that you just cannot live without, the wide, the cropped and the carrot shape – just to mention a few. The trousers are of great importance, they really control the silhouette you want to create. This spring we leave all the musts, rediscover ourselves and create our own rules about the silhouette, color and materials, all tuned in the new fashion items”, says Nina Starck, Head of Design at Lindex.
