Lindex top ten user of certified organic cotton worldwide

Lindex is one of the biggest users of certified organic cotton worldwide according to Textile Exchange‘s latest Organic Cotton Market Report 2014. With an increase of 31% of sustainable materials last year, Lindex is working its way to their goal that 100 per cent of the cotton shall come from sustainable sources by 2020.

We are of course very proud of our achievement, and we have clear strategy to increase our share of organic cotton to reach our 2020 goal of only using more sustainable cotton, says Anna-Karin Dahlberg, Production Support Manager at Lindex.

In 2014, Lindex sold 16.3 million pieces in sustainable materials which represented 22 per cent of the total product range, of which organic cotton has a large share. 2.4 per cent of the organic cotton was also GOTS certified, a figure that will increase in 2015. In order to improve the conventionally-cultivated cotton, Lindex are also a member of the Better Cotton Initiative.
