Elisabeth Svensson – System Developer

What do you work with at Lindex IT?
I work mainly with applications maintenance connected to Lindex business system Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS). My work is done in close collaboration with other departments which act as my customers. Together with our business users we design, build and test new and improved functionality that supports the business.

What are the top three reasons for why you work at Lindex?
Working for Lindex gives you lots of opportunities to plan your own work, to grow and develop your competence. We work with fun and engaging products and my colleagues are supportive and helpful.

What challenges do you see for Lindex?
Shopping online increases and all actors in the retail sector need to adapt to this. At the same time, there are still many customers that prefer to do their shopping in a physical store where they can touch and feel the products. Lindex is meeting this challenge by developing our ecommerce platform and integrating physical stores with our online stores. There is also a constant need to improve sustainability and reduce environmental impact in all parts of the retail chain all the way from production to end customer. Lindex is constantly working with different initiatives around this. For example, reducing water consumption during the manufacturing process, reducing the use of plastic bags and working to further recycling and reuse of garments.

What do you think is important when it comes to characteristics of new colleagues?
Being a good listener helps and it is also good if you are interested in the business side of retail, since the IT department works in close contact with other departments at Lindex. You should be a person that shares your knowledge and tries to help and support your colleagues when needed. You should be able to handle parallel projects and tasks since there is always a lot going on at Lindex IT department.
